Story 

Mpu Kuturan a holy Hindu priest from Java Island first established the Temple here . The Uluwatu Temple is one of the 7 Temples around the Island’s coast , which is has a very big influence for Hindu development in Bali . also The Temple was added to by Dhanghyang Nirartha another Hindu priest fro Java Island who did a holy journey around the Island in 16 century . Dhanghyang Nirarta retreated to Uluwatu Temple for his final days of his journey , when he attained moksa , disappeared and found a freedom from earthly desires . 

The visitors may not allowed to enter the quite small main Temple area but the main attraction is the location for good angle , especially at sunset , walk along the Cliff left and right of the Temple . But watch out for the local Monkeys which is like to snatch sunglasses , hat , hand bag , spectacles and anything they can get . At 18.00 pm at the south part of the Temple area , there will be spectacular Balinese dance performance ( KECAK AND FIRE DANCE ) in the open stage right beside the cliff . 

There will be Rp 20.000 / person for the entrance ticket fee and Rp 70.000 /person for the visitors who would like to watch the dance show .
